WEEKEND WATCH: Transportation Advice for Visitors this Sunday, January 27, 2019 to Downtown Orlando

WHAT:

As downtown Orlando continues to be the place for Central Florida to gather and create unique experiences, the City of Orlando is committed to helping visitors and residents easily get to the area, find parking, enjoy the atmosphere and travel home safety.

This Sunday, January 27, 2019, in addition to downtown’s regular active and vibrant scene, several large-scale events are planned and additional road closures will be implemented.

Event attendees are encouraged to plan their route and parking locations ahead of time and to leave early to give themselves enough time to get downtown to anticipate any unforeseen delays.

Additionally, the City of Orlando is working closely with Waze (a GPS software that works on smartphone and tablets to provide real-time traffic updates) to ensure they have the most up-to-date road closure information for this weekend to provide to users.

Visitors should be mindful that road closures in the downtown area change periodically based on event needs, construction of the Ultimate I-4 and 408, as well as other development in the area.

Alternate forms of transportation, such as LYMMO and bike share, can assist patrons in getting to their end location.

EVENTS ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, 2019 INCLUDE:

  • 10:00 a.m.     Orlando Farmers Market (Lake Eola Park)

PARKING TIPS:

Patrons traveling in vehicles to downtown should consider planning their traveling routes based on where they will park and use the parking location address to navigate.

Most parking garages in downtown Orlando are a short walk from entertainment locations and will allow patrons to enter and exit quicker than those in close proximity to venues.
